Dear Parents and Students!

Testing week is quickly approaching! We have been diligently working all year to ensure that students have the necessary tools to be successful on this year's state test.

This year students will take the computer based test in ELA, math, science and social studies with an additional computerized field test on May 2nd for our 8th grade students. I have sent home a schedule with the specific dates for each test, but if you need an additional copies, please contact us.

Your child’s attendance at school during testing is important –those students who have perfect attendance during the month of April and have given 100% on the test will be invited to participate in special activities. As we have been preparing to take this test all year, please encourage your child to do his or her best on the test. This data, combined with other data, can be used to place your child into ELA and math classes. We want every student to be able to move to the ninth grade ready for high school.

During testing week, students are asked to:

  • Get a good night’s sleep
  • Eat a good breakfast
  • Leave his or her cell phone at home
  • Bring a sweatshirt instead of a jacket or hoodie
  • Attend school every day, and be on time (testing begins each day promptly at 7:30 am)

We look forward to the rest of the year and hope that your child will be successful on this year’s LEAP test.
